Honey Ginger Glazed Pork

Honey Ginger Glazed Pork

I love pork but sometimes it's hard to think of other ways of cooking it. Growing up, we usually just made adobo, fried pork, lechon kawali, and grilled liempo. Lately, I've been exploring and experimenting more recipes I could find on the internet. Thank God for the internet. I'll make sure to share more recipes I've tried using pork meat but today, this is what I can share with you. This is a very simple and easy lunch or dinner recipe that will make you feel like you are eating in an Asian restaurant.

Recipe for Honey Ginger Glazed Pork

For the Marinade:

  • 300g pork tenderloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp rice wine
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 tbsp or cornstarch
For the Sauce:
  • 1 thumb size of ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
Others:
  • Cornstarch for coating

Instructions:
1. In a bowl, combine the pork and all the other ingredients for the marinade. Mix them well and cover with plastic wrap and let this marinate for at least an hour.
2. After marinating, lightly coat each piece of pork with cornstarch. Deep fry the pork in medium high heat until golden brown. Do not fry these too long or the pork will not be tender.
3. Prepare the sauce by sautéing the ginger and garlic until they release aroma. Then add the water, soy sauce, and the honey. Let it simmer for a while then add the fried pork. Toss the pork or mix so the pork will be fully coated with the sauce. Keep tossing or mixing until the sauce has fully dissolved.
4. Serve with toasted sesame seeds on a plate.
