Korean Spicy BBQ
I have been using this recipe since a few years ago and it has been a family favorite ever since! If you like eating out for a samgyupsal, then you might wanna try this recipe so you can have one in your own home. Trust me, it is worth it.
Recipe for Korean Spicy BBQ
Ingredients:
- 350g - 500g of bacon cut pork belly, or regular thinly sliced pork belly
- 1/2 cup of pear or half a pear
- 1/4 cup of white onion or half of whole onion
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 stalk of green onion, sliced
- a thumb of ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp of soy sauce
- 3 tbsp of brown sugar, you can use rice syrup for more authenticity
- 2 tsp of sesame oil
- 2-3 tbsp of hot pepper paste, gochujang
Instructions:
- Prepare your pork belly. If you can't find bacon sliced pork, you can buy a regular pork belly and just thinly slice them with a sharp knife.
- Prepare the marinade: If you have a food processor, just add all the ingredients, except the pork, in the food processor, or even a blender, and let it all blend together until it forms like a paste or a puree. If you don't have one, just mince the pear, white onion, garlic, and ginger. Then, in a bowl, add the rest of the ingredients with the sliced green onions.
- Once you have prepared the marinade, add the pork. Massage the pork gently with the marinade. For best results, let this marinate overnight or a few hours.
- To cook, use a non-stick pan or pan griller. Place the pork on the heat pan one by one. Cook for a few minutes on each side or until cooked. Do not overcook so you won't burn you pan.
- Serve with some rice and kimchi and enjoy!
