Honey Garlic Pork Belly
Pan Grilled Honey Garlic Pork
This dish will make you feel like you are eating in a restaurant. It’s sweet and savoury. The best part about this is it’s so simple and easy to make.
Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg pork belly
- Salt and pepper, to season
- 1-2 tbsp of oil for pang grilling
For the Sauce:
- 1 tbsp butter
- 6 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar or white vinegar
- Parsley, chopped
Instructions:
- Prepare the pork belly by seasoning with salt and pepper.
- In a heated pan, add oil. Add each slices of the pork. Fry each side about a minute or two on each side. Keep flipping. This will keep the pork tender. Keep frying each side until golden brown in color or you can check by cutting a part with kitchen scissors. Do not overcook or the pork will harden.
- In the same pan, remove a little bit of the excess oil from the pork. Then, add the butter and let it melt. Add the chopped garlic next and sauté it for a few seconds. Finally, add the remaining ingredients for the sauce and stir. Let it simmer for a minute on medium heat.
- Place the pan grilled pork bellies on top of the sauce and flip to coat the other side with the sauce. Let it cook for a while so the sauce can stick to the pork.
- To serve, place on a plate and garnish with some chopped fresh parsley.
