Chocolate Banana Bread

 Chocolate Banana Bread

I love a classic banana bread but sometimes, the chocolate lover in me simply can’t resist a chocolate banana bread. The secret to making this recipe is to have your bananas very ripe!

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 5 large very ripe bananas, mashed (about 2 1/2 cups)
  • 1 cup of brown sugar, 200g
  • 170 ml oil or melted butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 180g all purpose flour
  • 42g cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350F or 180C. Grease a large loaf pan (mine was 9x4.75x2.75.) In a bowl, mash your bananas. Set it aside.
  2. In a large bowl, add sugar, oil or melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined. Add the mashed banana and give it another mix.
  3. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon powder. Then, fold it in the wet batter. Keep folding until there are no more lumps of flour. You can add some chocolate chunks to make this banana bread fudgy and chocolatey!
  4. Transfer it to the prepared loaf pan. Add some chocolate sprinkles on top. Place it in the oven and bake for 55-60 minutes.
  5. Once done, place on a cooling rack and let it cool down to enjoy!
